Memphis Music and Heritage Festival, 5K and Memphis Marathon

Don't forget about the Center for Southern Folklore's Memphis Music and Hertitage Festival August 30 and August 31 on Main Street between Gayoso and Peabody Place. It's alot more than great food and great music, visit their site to find out more:

There haven't been many 5K's downtown in a while but there is one coming up on Labor Day, the Chick-fil-A 5K which starts at Front and Gayoso and ends at Autozone Park.

The St. Jude Memphis Marathon takes place December 6th and starts downtown, winds through Midtown and finally ends downtown at Autozone Park. That's a way off and since I'm certainly not training for it, I'll come back to it later. My admiration goes out to those who do run this marathon. http://www.stjudemarathon.org

Hello Marathon woman...I wish I could run one day as fast as you...December 6th would be freezing ? although Memphis is definetly not Canada.

What group does the Chick-Fil-A 5K benefit?

To K & M and Sparkling Like a Diamond (who is Ms. Liminal's sister),
The weather will be perfect for a marathon the first part of December in Memphis. It will probably be cold but not terribly cold and no where near as cold as Canada. The Chick-Fil-A 5k benefits Junior Achievement and its' educational programs. Sparkling - when I come to see you we are updating your blog.
