It seems there is another riverfront promenade idea floating around out there, the Memphis Art Park which I mentioned in yesterday's post. I happened to run into the architect who worked on the renderings and learned more about it. As I understand it the concept focuses on Monroe between Front and Riverside and proposes to convert the Cossitt Library and the adjacent parking garage into an art center and performance venue. I'm for any idea to convert Cossitt Library in particular into either a presentable library or into something the general public can be proud of and can use.
