Delta Axis: Power House Memphis


Delta Axis is a non-profit visual arts organization dedicated to contemporary art. One of the spaces where they showcase art is Power House Memphis located downtown at 45 East G.E. Patterson http://www.deltaaxis.org/. From October 10, 2008 - November 22, 2008 Power House will present "Guiding Light - A tribute to William Eggleston". This will be a show of contemporary artists' portraits and films dedicated to and/or inspired by Eggleston. Eggleston, a world renowned photographer, lives and works in Memphis. On October 10th there will be a reception with Eggleston from 6pm - 8pm.
Additionally, his work is the subject of an upcoming retrospective at the Whitney Museum in New York http://whitney.org/www/exhibition/eggleston.jsp.

Very interesting! I don't know a ton about art or photography, but the reason I know of him is because he and his wife own a house in east Memphis that I LOVE. I stalked the internet until I figured out who owned the beautiful mediterranean home and it is them. I'd love to see some of the work of the owner of that house.
