I swear I thought I was watching a Saturday Night Live commercial skit this morning while getting ready for work. It was for a company that sells teddy bears and what with Valentine's Day coming up this ad went on for eternity. The actors in this were fantastic in the sense that they were entirely devoid of any natural facial expressions but given the action, that would seem to be an impossible expectation. The usual scene: women in the office, teddy bear arrives, lots of squealing. Trite. I could imagine someone getting that excited if the delivery were say a briefcase full of cash that, unbeknownst to them, they are owed. Or even better, getting a Love Lobster from the Walgreens at Main and Madison. It's a giant plush lobster, soft and cuddly of course, with big shiny sparkly lips. That's right, lips. Well, I mean how could it possibly be called a love lobster if it didn't have lips? Nothing says love like a puffy lipped crustacean.
