A Little History, Schweppes, Old El Paso and My New Friend

I bring you a rather slapdash post of thoughts and sights for today:
French Heroes: Above is a memorial for two WWII French resistance fighters, Jean Moulin and Andre Lassagne, along one of the main avenues in Lyon. They, along with some others, were arrested in 1943 in Caluire-et-Cuire (Shake & Bake).

Discovery: Schweppes Agrum flavor drink: Pink grapefruit, orange, lime and mandarine. Re-freshing, I say.

Surprising find: Old El Paso products at le supermarche, Auchan!  I wanted to make fish tacos for dinner and found almost everything I needed. I also wanted black beans on the side but could not find any. The fish I used was haddock (called "aiglefin" in French) and I had no idea that's what it was when I bought it. It worked well especially since le supermarche de-boned it for me, and it was very fresh.

There's no air condtioning here. It seems it's one of those climates that gets cool enough at night to dispense with the luxury of AC. This oscillating fan has a twin and they are my new best friends.

When Chuck Norris peels an onion he doesn't cry, the onion does.

Yay for Old El Paso! It's over 100 every day here, and no rain! Hopefully it's not that hot during the day for y'all. :)

Anonymous,

Yes, and apparently the French know this about Chuck Norris as is evidenced by this street art. Paying homage, as it were.

Olivia,
It's hot here but not that hot thank goodness.

No need for AC? Deep down I bet you really miss those Memphis in August (that we now have in May, June, and July) hot humid days don't you?
