Buildings along the Doubs river and Saint Madeleine Church with the two towers and glazed tile roof
The bells and the "man" who rings them on the bell tower of Saint Madeleine Church
Victor Hugo was born in Besançon
The tower of Saint-Jean Cathedral
See those pretty copper street lights to the left? They are found throughout the city center and look so beautiful against the very distinctive stonework of the buildings...
Many buildings are constructed of a very particular multicolored stone. The colors, which don't come across so well in the photos, are grey-blue and a very light sand color.
Our very cool and cozy hotel, not two words I normally use together but they work here, Le Sauvage.

Love the buildings. Love the lanterns even more, but I have a question. True copper ages with a brown patina or even turquoise in spots. So, I ask, how are these lanterns still copper?
The little man on the cathedral is creepy.
The hotel looks fabulous.
Sparkling,
I do not know the answer to the copper question unless they are either all new-ish OR unless they have one of those wooden men go around polishing them. If wooden men can ring bells they can polish copper.
