Sunny Sunday

It was a sunny Sunday here today and a welcome one after many days of cold, rainy weather. People were out in droves to soak up as much vitamin D as possible. We sat outside at one of the sidewalk cafes along the Soane river after our farmers market shopping spree. We bought almost everything we could get our hands on and justified it by saying it was all for Christmas. Olives marinated in basil, marinated garlic cloves, medjool dates, thinly sliced ham, sausage, duck breast stuffed with foie gras, quail, comte cheese, goat cheese, fresh linguini and ravioli, baguette with sesame seeds, white asparagus, arugula, endive... and it goes on. Suffice it to say we didn't have enough room in the refrigerator and had to hang the bag of endive outside the window. All of the shops were open today as well since it's two days before Christmas so that was a (happy) shock for me since normally everything is closed on Sundays here.

Mistletoe and holly were big items at the farmers market today

The farmers market looks so fun. What kind of ravioli and how was it? Love how the mistletoe and holly was displayed...so simple yet so appealing.
