Taking Advantage

Everyone and I mean everyone was out today because it was as beautiful as the other day but *bonus* it's also a Saturday. So the city was crowded with people taking advantage of the fortuitous intersection of these two facts. We were no exception and were running from one end of town to the other handling every errand on the list, like shopping at the mall in Confluence. This included grocery shopping since there's a Carrefour here and although it's smaller than the Auchan hypermarket, it's a much better experience.

Then we headed across town passing by Place Carnot where loads of people were sitting outside having drinks at any one of the many of cafes surrounding the square.

We worked our way through traffic and across the Rhone river... the flag of Corsica, France's mediterranean island, was flying from one of the boats docked along the river. You see this Corsican head a lot here especially in sticker form (bumper stickers and on restaurant windows, which I assume means the proprietor is from Corsica). Since I've been here Corsica has been in the news quite a lot, see why HERE.

Finally made it to Bahadourian and got the Chinese Five Spice I need to make eggrolls and chicken fried rice tonight. What? I can't have variety? I thought I'd never say this but sometimes I just have to lay off the baguette and fromage.

At the end of a busy afternoon a nice coffee at a cozy cafe was the cherry on top.
